One man was killed November 14 in an early afternoon fire in a Hempstead Drive apartment, authorities said.
The fire is currently under investigation, according to a press release from the Franklin Township Police Department.
Police received a call about the fire at about 1:37 p.m., according to the release.
The unidentified occupant of the apartment was taken to a local trauma center, where he was pronounced dead, according to the release.
Detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Fire Investigation Unit and the Franklin Township Police Department are conducting an investigation to determine the cause and origin of the fire, according to the release.
