Bridgewater, NJ – The High Point Rockers (3-1) defeated the Somerset Patriots (2-2) 4-0 at TD Bank Ballpark in the first ever meeting between the two teams on Monday evening. High Point’s starter Paul Clemens (1-0) pitched six hitless and scoreless innings to earn the win.

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (2-1) defeated the New Britain Bees (1-2) 4-1 on Sunday afternoon at TD Bank Ballpark to take the opening series of the 2019 season. Somerset took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second inning on a sacrifice fly by Mike Fransoso.

A seven-run fourth inning powered the Franklin High School Warriors baseball team to a 16-1 win over Manville High School April 22 in the opening day of the Somerset County Tournament. Nearly every Warrior had a say in the win, which featured an inside-the-park two-run homer in the home third inning and a total of 10 stolen bases.

May 2 is Lady Warriors Day in the township to celebrate the Franklin High School Lady Warriors’ basketball team’s perfect 34-0 championship season. The day will be highlighted by a tour by the team of the township’s seven elementary schools, and a “Dinner of Champions” later that evening.

The Lady Warriors softball team threatened early, but could not pull the trigger and eventually fell to Watchung Hills Regional High School, 16-1 on April 16. Franklin loaded the bases with two outs in the second inning, but could only bring one across the plate before being retired.
