The past met the future May 21 at Colonial Park, when Boy Scout Troop 113 celebrated its 50th anniversary with a picnic and party.

Somerset County centenarians were once again honored May 19 at the Regency Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on DeMott Lane. Held to commemorate Older Americans’ Month, the event drew about 21 centenarians and their families to a luncheon at the center.

Update 2: Sterlacci won the $100,000 tournament in the episode which aired May 13. The win qualifies him for the program’s Tournament of Champions.

Township resident LaQuina Fladger is hoping too see a sea of fancy hats May 1 at the East Franklin Fire Station on Pine Grove Avenue. That’s because Fladger, who also goes by “Q,” is hosting a charity event to benefit breast cancer and domestic violence charities.

The 27th annual Tour de Franklin was one for the record books. The tour, the Franklin Food Bank’s main fundraising effort, drew more than 770 riders and raised at least $78,000, both figures of which are new records, according to food bank officials.

More than 300 people showed up at The Imperia on Easton Avenue April 15 for food, wine, bourbon and cigars, and all for a good cause. The event was the second annual Franklin Township PBA Local 154 Wine & Spirits Tasting and, according to the event’s co-organizer, it was a success.

Friends and supporters of the Center for Great Expectations on Dellwood Lane gathered April 8 for the dedication of the expansion of its adolescent center. The Center provides housing and treatment programs for trauma, abuse, homelessness and addiction for adult and adolescent women and their children.

The beer was flowing and the music was non-stop April 2 at the second annual “Going for the Green” fundraiser for the Franklin Food Bank. Held in a greenhouse on Suydam Farms on Skillmans Lane, the event drew more than 150 people, organizers said.
