A 22-year-old California man is awaiting extradition to Somerset County after having been arrested for sexual assault on a minor. The alleged victim, a 14-year-old Somerset County girl, told detectives that she had sexual intercourse with the man on two occasions when he visited her in December 2020, according to a press release from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

A 2-year-old boy was killed February 20 after he was struck by a pickup truck on his property, police said. Police said a 60-year-old man was backing the pickup to leave the residence at about 8:46 a.m. when the boy was struck.

Trying to avoid a law enforcement vehicle check resulted ina township man being arrested on weapons and drug charges on February 9, police said. Police responding to a Hamilton Street multi-use building found Segun in a common stairwell of the building, suffering from stab wounds to his upper body, according to a press release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

A 25-year-old Somerset man faces multiple gun-related charges after a motor vehicle stop on January 8. Police were conducting a “Quality of Life” investigation along Millstone Road, which included a motor vehicle stop on Spruce Street, according to a press release from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
