[huge_it_maps id=”6″] There were no apparent injuries Feb. 9 after a shotgun was fired out of a car in the Rachel Court/Beekman Road area, police said. The car left the area after the shots were fired, said Franklin Township Police spokesman Lt. Phil Rizzo.

Township police are seeking the public’s help in locating the driver of a car that may have damaged the historic Griggstown bridge tender’s station. On Feb. 6, police were alerted to damage to the station, located at the Griggstown Causeway off Canal Road, according to a press release from the FTPD.

One of two family cats was killed in an afternoon fire Jan. 22 that severely damaged a Millstone Road home. Police said that a 9-1-1 call reporting the fire was received at about 3:41 p.m., and that responding officers reported seeing heavy smoke coming from the house.

An early morning car accident Jan. 22 resulted in the death of one man, and the arrest of a 25-year-old Franklin resident. Suraj Gagneja, of Somerset, was charged with 2nd Degree Death by Auto, 4th Degree Assault by Auto, and Driving While Intoxicated in connection with the death of Antoine King Jr., 22, of Plainfield, according to a press release …

A late-night fire in a Burnham Street home displaced its residents, but did not result in any injuries. A 9-1-1 call reporting the fire was received by Franklin Township Police at about 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 19, according to an FTPD release.

A 36-year-old township woman was seriously injured Jan. 18 after she was hit by a car on Easton Avenue. Police responding to a 9-1-1 call placed at 10:11 p.m. found Dorian Appling lying in the road at Easton Avenue and JFK Boulevard, suffering from serious head injuries, according to a press release from the Franklin Township Police Department.

Police are investigating 18 cases of criminal mischief reported on five streets Jan. 14. In each of the cases, someone drove a vehicle onto properties and struck mailboxes, according to a release from the Franklin Township Police Department. The incidents happened on John E. Busch and Walnut avenues, and Culver, 9th and 12th streets, according to the release.

Sometimes things do work out for the best. The theft and use of a credit card last year recently ended with the victim being made whole, and a Franklin High School student the recipient of some new sports gear, according to township police.
