The champagne was flowing December 6 at Venus Jewelers‘ in the Rutgers Plaza on Easton Avenue as the family owned business celebrated its new location.
The new, larger store is only steps away from its former location, but light years away in feel and ambience.
The event was hosted by co-owners Peter Stavrianidis and Dorothy Fount, and Jason Stavrianidis, who is set to become the fifth generation in the line of jewelers.
Invited guests strolled among the presentation cases filled with gleaming jewelry as caterers made their way through the crowd with tray after tray of hors d’oeuvres.
Among those attending were Mayor Phil Kramer and Township Councilmembers Ram Anbarasan, Shepa Uddin, James Vassanella and Charles Onyejiaka.
Also there were Nick DiMeglio and Bill Grippo, president and vice-president, respectively, of the Franklin Township Chamber of Commerce.
The cutting of a bright red ribbon placed at the store’s entrance kicked off the celebration.
The Franklin Reporter & Advocate was there to capture the moment:
