Life Story: Maureen Trucke, 71; School District Office Manager

Maureen Trucke, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 20 at St. Peter’s University Medical Center in New Brunswick.

Maureen was born in Brooklyn and lived for a time in The Bronx. She also resided in Scotch Plains and graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in Scotch Plains. She has resided in Somerset since 1973.

She was a parishioner at St. Matthias Church in Somerset. Maureen was an employee of the Franklin Township Board of Education for more than 25 years where she worked as an office manager for the superintendent’s office. She also loved to travel throughout Europe and other exciting locations. Maureen was an animal lover and held her teacup Yorkie named Peanut close to her heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in 1988. She was also predeceased by her sister Katherine Fox and her parents, Robert and Rita Fox.

Maureen is survived by her daughters, Debra Trucke and her husband, Michael St. George, of Edison, and Christine Trucke and her husband, Louis Guglielmo, of Kendall Park; her siblings Robert Fox III and John Fox; and a niece, Ashley Fox. She is also survived by her beloved nieces Amy Ford and family of Hamilton, and Shari Turk and son Ryan of Tampa, FL.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. January 25 at the Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton Street, Somerset, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral mass at St. Matthias Church in Somerset. Interment will follow at Van Liew Cemetery in North Brunswick.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Gleason Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, January 24.
