Stephanie Ho of Franklin Park was cited for failure to stop or yield after the car she was driving rear-ended another car on South Middlebush Road. Ho said she was rounding the bend and did not see a stopped car, driven by Elizabeth Williams of Monmouth Junction, until it was too late to stop.

Angely Corporan-Brito of Somerset was cited for careless driving after the car she was driving on Hawthorne Drive swerved into an oncoming car driven by Matei Liptar, also of Somerset. Corporan-Brito said she was looking down, trying to retrieve her baby’s pacifier, when her car drifted into the other lane.

Prafullch Mehta of Manalapan was cited for careless driving after the car he was driving rear-ended one driven by Smaradamb Gangaramegowda of Somerset. The two cars were driving down Easton Avenue; Mehta said he saw the other car slowing, applied his brakes, but slid into it.

A car driven by Peter Rude of Flemington and a U.S. Postal Service truck driven by Paul Rasnussen of Helmetta were passing each other on Butler Road when their side-view mirrors struck. The two said the shoulders were covered in snow, making the road very narrow.

Kimberly Malerba of Franklin Park told police that her car was struck in its parking spot off Tracey Court. She said it probably happened two days earlier, when the lot was being cleared of snow by a plow from Growing Concerns of Cranbury.

A car driven by Sreeganes Kondayampettai-Ka of Edison slid off the road on Cottontail Lane and hit a telephone pole. He said he braked just before entering a curve, but his car slid on the snowy road.

A 2006 BMW caught fire while parked at 920 Hamilton Street. Police said the fire did not appear to be suspicious. There were no reported injuries.

A Tall Oaks Road resident told police that her wallet had been stolen, and that the thief used several of her credit cards in New Brunswick, Trenton and Hamilton. In addition to the credit cards, the wallet contained personal papers, she said.

Tremaine James of Piscataway was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, for treatment of facial wounds after the car he was driving on New Brunswick Road struck a curb, a utility pole and spun out into the opposite lane. James told police he’d dropped his cell phone near the car’s pedals and was trying to retrieve it when his car left the road. James was cited for careless driving and failure to maintain his lane of travel.
