UPDATED: Winter Storm Misses Franklin, Leaves Mainly Slush And Ice

Franklin Township was spared the brunt of the season’s first snow storm.

Updated 11/27/14: A winter storm that had been forecast to drop between 5 and 10 inches of snow in the Franklin area Nov. 26 fizzled, leaving the township with little more than an inch of snow, but lots of slush and ice.

The National Weather Service says there’s a slight chance of snow showers this morning, but they won;t leave any real accumulation.

Icy conditions on roads and sidewalks will greet early morning travelers as temperatures hover at or near freezing, according to the NWS.

Temperatures during the day are expected to be in the high 40s, with nightfall bringing those temperatures down to the 20s, according to the Rutgers university weather service.
