York, PA – The York Revolution (20-12) defeated the Somerset Patriots (20-11) 7-2 Tuesday evening from Santander Stadium. This was the first game of a three game midweek series.
In the bottom of the first inning York scored three runs to take an early 3-0 advantage. Designated hitter Johan Limonta slashed a two RBI double and third baseman Ofilio Castro recorded a RBI single.
Somerset plated a pair of runs in the top of the second inning to cut the deficit to 3-2. Corey Smith scored on an error by Castro and catcher Damaso Espino sliced a RBI single.
Limonta socked a three run home run (6) in the home half of the third inning as York added to its lead at 6-2.
The Revolution added a run in the bottom of the fifth as Castro slapped a RBI single making the score 7-2 which would the final score.
Corey Thurman (1-1) earned the win tossing six innings. He struck out five, walked none and gave up no earned runs. Matt Langwell (2-3) suffered the loss as he surrendered a season-high seven runs in six innings of work.
