Right-hand pitcher Erik Arnesen has been re-signed by the Somerset Patriots.

The Somerset Patriots have announced the re-signing of right-handed pitcher Erik Arnesen.

Arnesen finished the 2013 season with a 13-4 record, a 3.18 ERA, and 103 strikeouts in 149.2 innings pitched in 22 games started.

“Erik was our Opening Day starter last year and is a true workhorse. He’s going to take the ball and give your team a chance to win every time he takes the mound. He is a proven winner, a competitor, and a great clubhouse guy on top of all of it,” said Brett Jodie, Manager of the Somerset Patriots Baseball Club.

Arnesen, a resident of Belle Mead, New Jersey, started the season with the Patriots before signing with the Oakland A’s and reporting to Double-A. He appeared in three games for Midland, two as a starter, and recorded seven strikeouts in 11.2 innings pitched.

He spent his entire career before joining Somerset in the Washington Nationals organization, including three seasons at the Triple-A level.
