First Real Snowstorm Of Season Hits Township; More To Come

Just under 5 inches of snow fell in the township on Jan. 24.

The Jan. 24 snowstorm that hit the region left about 4.9 inches of snow in the township, according to the National Weather Service.

More snow is expected to start the evening of Jan. 25 and continue through Jan. 27, according to the NWS.

Snow began falling very early in the morning of Jan. 24 and lasted through most of the morning.

By early afternoon, most township streets were plowed and traffic was proceeding as normal.

There were no major power outages in the township, according to Public Service Electric & Gas.

The NWS is forecasting periods of snow from Sunday night through Tuesday, which could result in an additional several inches of snow.

Temperatures will drop near the end of the week, according to the NWS.
