Hamilton Street Safety Improvement Meeting

Somerset County, in cooperation with the Township of Franklin, the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and the Federal Highway Administration, will be hosting a Public Information Center to inform local residents, officials, businesses and the general public of the status of the Safety Improvements to Hamilton Street (CR 514) from Vanderbilt Avenue to Middlesex County Line project in Franklin Township.

The purpose of this project is to implement corridor-wide improvements to improve safety for all roadway users along Hamilton Street (CR 514) from Vanderbilt Avenue to the Middlesex County Line in Franklin Township. This project will include the reconstruction of traffic signal equipment, curb, sidewalk, pavement, and curb extensions in the vicinity of the project limits. The project is currently in the design phase and will be funded for construction with FHWA’s Highway Safety Improvement Program Funds.

The purpose of this meeting is to inform the public of the project’s purpose and need, proposed design, progress to date and the federal process/requirements for construction. This meeting will be held in-person on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. A presentation will be made at 6:30 PM.

Members of the public will be able to speak with the County’s engineers and consultant representatives to ask questions and provide comments. This meeting is being conducted in conformance with Federal and State regulations and is open to all members of the public.
