Fires in two cars in one driveway were extinguished Feb. 29 before they spread to a Jurocko Avenue home, police said. A 9-1-1 call reporting the fires was phoned in at about 10:25 p.m., according to a press release from the township police department.

A 23-year-old North Brunswick woman was revived from an apparent overdose when a township police officer administered a dose of Narcan, police said. Township police are investigating a one-car accident on Amwell Road that left a Mount Laurel woman injured. Police said that at about 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 26, a 2007 Dodge Charger driven westbound on the road by Adelaide Slobert, 63, crossed the center line into the eastbound lane, left the road and struck a ditch before overturning.

A Somerset man who was a former deportation officer with Immigration and Customs Enforcement was indicted Feb. 22 by a federal Grand Jury on multiple bribery and immigration-related charges. A Monroe man suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after being involved in a three-vehicle crash on South Middlebush Road on Feb. 16. South Middlebush Road was closed for about four hours during the investigation.

A 26-year-old New Brunswick man escaped serious injury Feb. 15 after he was shot several times in his hands and torso on Ambrose Street, authorities said. Township police and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office are asking for the public’s help in locating the person who shot the unidentified man.

Three township residents – one a juvenile – were arrested Feb. 2 after a loaded handgun was found in a car they were driving in Manville. Rashiene Rochester and Malcolm Allen, both 22, and a juvenile were arrested in the Marketplace at Manville shopping center, according to a release on the incident from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.
