Authorities are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man suspected of robbing an Elizabeth Avenue bank on Nov. 1. Township police responded to an alarm activation at the Chase Bank at about 6 p.m., according to a press release from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office.

Update: Echevarria, 40, was sentenced Oct. 24 to 84 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Esther Salas, sitting in Newark. Judge Salas also sentenced Echevarria to three years of supervised released and ordered him to pay forfeiture of $75,000, according to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Update: What a police spokesman called “good, old-fashioned police work” resulted in the discovery that a township man drove the car that  smashed into the side of the community center. Police said that Joseph Driggers, Jr. 40, of Somerset was identified as the driver of the 2001 Chevy Impala that hit the building before fleeing the scene.

Oct. 11 Raphael Edwards of Somerset was cited for careless driving and driving with a suspended license after his car collided with one driven by Jeison Garcia-Tejada of Somerset.
