A 78-year-old woman suffering from dementia was found dead in her car in the Rutgers Plaza parking lot May 7, police said. A Silver Alert had earlier that day been issued for the woman, Anita Cupo, who was last seen in South Bound Brook.

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots (9-6) rallied to defeat the Bridgeport Bluefish (8-7) 2-1 Sunday afternoon at TD Bank Ballpark. The Patriots won the rubber match as shortstop Robert Andino spanked a walk-off RBI single to propel the Patriots to victory on Mother’s Day.

More than a dozen middle school world language students at Cedar Hill Preparatory School earned medals in the 2015 National Spanish Examinations. In total, 16 students won medals in the online test of Spanish skills: four gold, 10 silver and two bronze. Another 20 students won honorable mentions.

Quick response by staff at Franklin Middle School May 5 likely saved the life of a 7th grade student who collapsed, interim schools Superintendent Lee Seitz said. Speaking at the May 7 Board of Education meeting, Seitz said the student – who was not identified – collapsed during his gym class.
