Somerset Man Charged With Possession, Sale Of Heroin, Other Drugs

A township man was arrested March 9 on drug-related charges after he allegedly sold illegal drugs to an undercover police officer.

D’Andre Walker, 28, was charged after allegedly selling 50 folds of heroin and two small plastic bags of cocaine to an undercover detective assigned to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Organized Crime and Narcotics Task Force, according to a press release on the arrest.

Police said it was the third such sale Walker made to the detective, in a parking lot off Philips Road.

Police said the first sale took place at about 8 p.m. on Feb. 25, when Walker sold the detective 50 folds of heroin.

The second sale, police said, took place at about 9 p.m. on March 3, when Walker sold the detective another 50 folds of heroin.

After the March 9 sale, police said, Walker was placed under arrest and his home was searched. The search revealed 105 folds of heroin, three Percocet pills and a scale, all of which were located in Walker’s dresser, police said.

The approximate street value of the heroin was placed at $2,550.

Walker was charged with 3 counts of 3rd Degree Distribution of CDS (Heroin), 3rd Degree Distribution of CDS (Cocaine), 3rd Degree Possession of CDS (Heroin) with Intent to Distribute, 3rd Degree Possession of CDS (Percocet) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a Disorderly Persons Offense, police said.

Walker was housed in the Somerset County Jail, Somerville.
