Woman Killed, Two Injured, In Easton Avenue Car Crash

A 59-year-old Clinton woman was killed and two other people were injured Oct. 4 in an auto accident at Easton Avenue and Culver Street, police said.

The accident happened shortly before 2 p.m., police said, when a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup driven southbound on Easton Avenue by Jhonny Herrera, 40, of North Brunswick struck a 1999 Lexus RX300 driven by the Clinton woman, entering Easton from Culver Street.

The Clinton woman, who police did not identify, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 60-year-old Bridgewater woman, a passenger in the Lexus, was taken to an area trauma center with serious, possibly life-threatening, injuries, police said.

Herrera was also taken to a local trauma center with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Easton Avenue was closed for about 4 1/2 hours during the investigation.

The accident is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Ptl.
