Adriel Thomas of Somerset earned a master’s degree from Georgia State University during the Spring 2019 semester. The university conferred degrees during its 104th commencement ceremonies in May.
Among the students earning recognition on the Coastal Carolina University Dean’s List was Alyssa M. Kowalsky, a Hospitality Resort and Tourism Management Pre-Major major from Somerset. Coastal Carolina University is a dynamic, public comprehensive liberal arts institution located in Conway, just minutes from the resort area of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Jave Brown from Franklin Park earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies in interdisciplinary studies from Coastal Carolina University.
Major General Raymond F. Shields, the Adjutant General for the State of New York, announces recent awards and individual recognitions for members of the New York Guard state defense force for their continuing commitment to serve community, state and nation as part of New York State’s Military Forces. Spc. Laura Dickinson from Franklin Park, serving with the New York Guard Headquarters, received the New York State Medal for Humane Service during recent unit training events. The New York Guard is a force of 500 uniformed volunteers, organized as a military unit, who augment the New York National Guard during state emergencies. They provide administrative and logistics support to the National Guard. Members of the New York Guard have been involved in flood control efforts along the Lake Ontario shoreline this summer.
Sixty-seven Muhlenberg College student-athletes were recognized for their performance in the classroom and on the field, court, track and course with their selection to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll for the spring 2019 season. Julia Lombardo of Franklin Park was one of the Muhlenberg students named to the spring Academic Honor Roll. Each student-athlete must be a sophomore or higher in class standing and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average.
Julie Lynn Johnson of Franklin Park graduated from Trevecca Nazarene University on May 4. Johnson earned a Doctor of Education.
Students earning master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Scranton include the following: Fortune D Oki of Somerset, who earned a Master of Health Administration with a major in health administration; Elizabeth A. Murrin of Franklin Park, who earned a Master of Science with a major in educational administration, and Michael Kavka of Somerset who earned a Master of Business Administration with a major in operations management. The University of Scranton is a Jesuit university located in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Students earning undergraduate degrees include the following: Ashley A. Aka of Somerset, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and Jeremy P. Bathan of Somerset, who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting.
Michael Maguire of Franklin Park was named to the Dean’s List at Lehigh University in the Spring 2019 semester.
Assumption College has announced that Colleen Kurtz of Somerset has been named to the College’s prestigious Dean’s List for the spring 2019 semester. To receive recognition, students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester. The Dean’s List is announced following the spring and fall semesters.
Shelby A. Lubowicki of Somerset has been named to the President’s List at Clemson University. Lubowicki, whose major is Health Science, made the President’s List for the spring 2019 semester. To be named to the President’s List, a student must achieve a 4.0 (all As) grade-point average.
Shreya Jain of Somerset has earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta. Jain was among approximately 3,800 undergraduate and graduate students who received degrees during Georgia Tech’s 257th Commencement exercises on May 3-4, 2019, at the McCamish Pavilion.
Among those students named to the Dean’s List at East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania (ESU) for the Spring 2019 semester of the 2018-2019 are: Me’Saj Closs, a Business Management student from Somerset; Jasmine Uzzell, a Biochemistry student from Somerset, and Tiana Webster, a Sport Management student from Somerset.
University of the Sciences recognized graduates as part of the University’s 198th Commencement celebration in Philadelphia, Pa., on Wednesday, May 22, 2019: Erika Estillore of Somerset graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Health Science. Parth Patel of Somerset graduated with a bachelor of science degree in Pharmacology and Toxicology. Tuhay Jalloh of Somerset graduated with a doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Also graduating were Khushbu Patel of Franklin Park and Shanaya Patel of Somerset.
