Township Non-Profit Groups Win Tickets To County Freeholders’ Box Seats At TD Bank Ballpark

Four township-based organizations are among 40 throughout Somerset County chosen in a drawing for the Somerset County Board of Chosen Freeholders’ Community Box seats at TD Bank Ballpark in Bridgewater.

The township organizations picked to receive tickets for the box seats are A Child’s Page Inc., the Franklin Township Youth Council, Franklin Women’s Club in Franklin, Somerset Community Action Program.

Freeholder Director Patrick Scaglione selected 40 nonprofit organizations in an annual drawing for the seats. The winners will have an opportunity to watch the “Boys of Summer” play home games on various dates during the Somerset Patriots’ 2018 season.

“Somerset County has made this 30-seat community box available for the benefit of nonprofits and community organizations since the ballpark opened in 1999,” Freeholder Director Patrick Scaglione said in a press release. “This tradition allows us to recognize the amazing work being done by these organizations to improve the lives of Somerset County residents.”

Other winners in the drawing include several emergency services organizations: Bradley Gardens First Aid & Rescue Squad in Bridgewater, Bradley Gardens Volunteer Fire Company in Bridgewater, Green Knoll Rescue Squad in Bridgewater, Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 in Hillsborough, Somerset County Emergency Management Services Bureau in Hillsborough, Somerset County Hazardous Materials Emergency Response Team in Hillsborough, Emergency Services of Peapack & Gladstone in Peapack, Somerville Rescue Squad in Somerville, South Bound Brook Fire Department Exempt Association in South Bound Brook and South Bound Brook Fire Company #1 in South Bound Brook.

Youth organizations will share the excitement of watching the Patriots play: Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church Youth in Bernards, Cub Scout Pack #64 in Bound Brook, ELLE Foundation Inc. in Bridgewater, Somerset County Vocational & Technical High School in Bridgewater, Visions and Pathways in Bridgewater.

Additional winners include: American Legion Giles-Biondi Post #63 in Bound Brook, La Leche League of Hillsborough/Bridgewater in Branchburg, the Adult Day Center of Somerset County in Bridgewater, Bradley Gardens Reformed Church in Bridgewater, Rutgers Master Gardeners of Somerset County, Elizabeth Snyder-Continental Chapter of the DAR in Green Brook, Ancient Order of Hibernians in Hillsborough, Hillsborough Presbyterian Church, Jersey Harmony Chorus – a Chapter of Sweet Adeline’s International in Hillsborough, Raritan Valley Symphonic Band in Hillsborough, and the South Branch Reformed Church in Hillsborough.

Also, Knights of Columbus – St. Jude 6573 Council in Manville, Manville-Hillsborough Elks Lodge 2119 in Manville, Friends of the Carpenter, Inc. in North Plainfield, Friends of the North Plainfield Memorial Library in North Plainfield, North Plainfield Lions Club in North Plainfield, D&R Canal Watch in Rocky Hill, Daytop Village of New Jersey at Crawford House in Montgomery, SAVE, a Friend to Homeless Animals in Montgomery, Legal Services of Northwest Jersey in Somerville, and the Somerset County Epilepsy Support Group in Somerville.

Winners are nonprofits whose client base consists of at least 50 percent Somerset County residents or community organizations that are located in Somerset County or have a facility based in Somerset County that serves the citizens of Somerset County. Winners provide a significant community service or volunteer element to Somerset County residents.

The Somerset Patriots will play their first 2018 home game on Friday, April 27, at 7:05 p.m.
