Township Council Votes to Spend Nearly $380,000 on Goods, Services

Purchases worth nearly $380,000 were approved at the Oct. 8 Township Council meeting.

The items the council voted to buy are two utility body trucks for $106,000 and two pickup trucks with snow plows for $78,500 from Beyer Brothers of Fairview, and a backhoe for $106,405 and an articulated wheel loader for $66,680 from Jesco of South Plainfield.

The council also voted to award a one-year contract for the township’s newsletter design and production to Hawk Graphics of Mt. Freedom. The three-issue deal will cost $24,000.

Also approved was a no-cost contract with Faith Veterinary Clinic Services of Dayton for mobile veterinary services for animals kept at the Franklin Animal Shelter. The one-year contract covers treatment of upper respiratory infections, minor injuries, diarrhea, vomiting and anorexia in the shelter animals.

Major surgeries and dental cleanings are not covered.
