Third Annual Franklin Day Festival Set For Sept. 24

Franklin Day 201404

The third annual Franklin Day festival is set for later this month.

The Third Annual Franklin Day Festival is set for noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 24 in Colonial Park on Elizabeth Avenue.

The day will include live music, more than 100 vendors, dance performances showcasing Franklin’s diverse community, 15 food vendors and free rides and activities for children.

“Last year was a great success with 8,000 people attending this wonderful community event”, Township Councilwoman Rozalyn Sherman, founder and coordinator of the festival, said in a press release. “We encourage attendees to bring lawn chairs or a blanket to relax, have fun and enjoy a wonderful Fall day out of doors in beautiful Colonial Park and enjoy all of the activities.”

The festival offers things of interest to for all ages. Adults can enjoy a classic car show and participate in a Pickle Ball demonstration, shopping and interacting with local businesses and non-profits, while children can enjoy totally free pony rides, bouncy houses, paddle boats, miniature golf and petting zoo along with Township vehicles to climb into and explore.

The event is being sponsored by Investors Bank, L’Oréal, Oasis Senior Advisors as well as Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and St. Peter’s University Hospital, among many other local businesses.

The Franklin Day Festival is in Colonial Park, Lot C (near the children’s playground). Cars can enter the Park via Elizabeth Avenue or Mettlers Road. To learn more, visit the Franklin Township website at www.franklintwpnj.org/FranklinDay.
