Somerset Presbyterian Church To Present ‘The Seven Last Words Of Jesus’ On Good Friday

The Rev. Sharon Culley of Somerset Presbyterian Church will participate in the Good Friday program at the church.

A special presentation of “The Seven Last Words of Jesus” will be held from noon to 3 p.m. April 18 at the Somerset Presbyterian Church, 100 John F. Kennedy Blvd. in Somerset.

The program will be an ecumenical service, with ministers of various area congregations delivering the messages.

The presenters will be:

  • Rev. John Potter, Honorably Retired, PC(USA) – “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do.” (Luke 23:34)
  • Rev. Ann Schoonover, Chaplain, University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro – “Today you will be with me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43)
  • Rev. Tom J. Culley, Pastor, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Edison, NJ – “Behold your son; behold your mother” (John 19:26)
  • Rev. Sharon Johnson, Associate Minister, Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Edison, NJ – “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Mark 15:34)
  • Rev. George Montanari, Pastor, Middlebush Reformed Church, Middlebush, NJ – “I thirst.” (John 19:28)
  • Rev. Leslie Williams, Minister, Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, New Brunswick, NJ  – “It is finished.” (John 19:30)
  • Rev. Sharon E. Culley, Pastor, Somerset Presbyterian Church, Somerset, NJ – “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit.” (Luke 23:46)

The presentations are open to the public. There will be a musical interlude between the presentations.
