Somerset Patriots To Welcome Coach Pikiell To Team’s Rutgers Night On Saturday, August 26th

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots will welcome Rutgers Basketball Head Coach Steve Pikiell to the team’s annual Rutgers Night at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday, August 26th for the team’s 7:05 pm game against the Bridgeport Bluefish.

 

Rutgers Night is an annual tradition at TD Bank Ballpark designed to highlight Rutgers University and get fans excited for the upcoming football and basketball seasons.

Pikiell, the 2016 America East Conference Coach of the Year who led Stony Brook to six postseason appearances over seven years, was named the 19th head coach in the history of Rutgers men’s basketball on March 22, 2016. A two-time team captain at point guard under Naismith Hall of Fame Head Coach Jim Calhoun at Connecticut, he arrived “On the Banks” with 25 years of coaching experience, including the 11 seasons as head coach of the Seawolves.

 

Rutgers Night will also welcome the Scarlet Knight, Rutgers cheerleaders, dance team members and other special guests to still be announced closer to the event.

 

Fans are encouraged to wear red to the game to show their support for Rutgers University.
