Bridgewater, N.J. – The Somerset Patriots hosted its annual Holiday Toy Drive on Saturday, December 13 at TD Bank Ballpark. All of the toys were donated to The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots of Central Jersey.
A record number of toys were collected from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Somerset Patriots Team Store. Manager Emeritus Sparky Lyle was in attendance, where he met fans, signed autographs and took pictures.
“The turnout out was just awesome. I can’t believe how many toys we collected this year through our very generous fans. They will help make the holidays a little brighter for those less fortunate,” said Lyle.
The Patriots welcomed Santa Claus to take pictures with children. Fans also had the opportunity to take photos and get autographs from Sparkee and his pal Slider, along with General Admission.
The Patriots also hosted its Holiday Kickoff with Somerset Sluggers Kids Club members. Kids got to write their wish lists to Santa, create snowflakes and draw colorful holiday pictures.
