BRIDGEWATER – Anticipation was high April 27 at TD Bank Ballpark, for the opening day festivities of the Somerset patriots’ 2018 season.

Among those in attendance were Somerset County Freeholder Bran Levine and state Sen. Christopher “Kip” Bateman (R-16).

And of course, the ubiquitous Sparky Lyle, the Patriots’ first manager and now manager emeritus.
