Somerset Patriots And Kalafer Dealerships Sponsor Tour Of Somerville

Bridgewater, NJ – The Somerset Patriots have teamed up with Flemington Car & Truck Country Family of Brands, Clinton Honda and Land Rover Princeton to sponsor the Tour of Somerville Bike Race this Memorial Day Weekend.

The Tour of Somerville is the oldest and most prestigious race in North America and an annual Memorial Day Weekend tradition since 1940. The event brings tens of thousands of families and race fans to Somerville and Bound Brook for the weekend-long event featuring the most elite cyclists in the world. Now in its 76th year, more than 500 cyclists are expected to compete in the various races throughout the weekend.

Memorial Day is highlighted by a family-fun ride in the morning, games and entertainment for all in attendance, and six Tour of Somerville Races throughout the day. The Mildred Kugler 25-mile race will take place at 3:00 pm for the women and the Kugler-Anderson 50-mile men’s race will start at 4:05 pm.

This year, world-renowned sports artist James Fiorentino, through a partnership with Studio 7 Fine Gallery in Bernardsville, has added the Tour of Somerville to his impressive portfolio by being commissioned to paint the official artwork of the event.

The original painting will permanently hang in the collection of the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame in California. The painting has been made into limited edition giclees and posters that are available at the event courtesy of the Somerset Patriots, Flemington Car & Truck Country Family of Brands, Clinton Honda and Land Rover Princeton.

Sparkee, the Somerset Patriots Mascot, will be making an appearance at the event on Monday from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm to entertain the families in attendance and take part in the different activities on Main Street in Downtown Somerville.
