Somerset Eye Care has opened its second office in the township with the acquisition of Lens ‘N Eye at 1727 Route 27.

The former owners, Drs. Jim Kelley and Hinda Liebeskind, are retiring in Florida, according to a release about the acquisition.  The practice will carry the Somerset Eye Care name.

The new office will be under the direction of Dr. Prapti Shah of North Brunswick. Dr. Shah received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry after graduating from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

“On behalf of Somerset Eye Care, I am thrilled to be able to provide previous patients of Lens ‘N Eye, along with those new to the office, the quality of care for which Somerset Eye Care has long been recognized,” Dr. Shah said in the release.

“I couldn’t be more pleased in passing the torch to Somerset Eye Care,” Dr. Kelly said in the release.  “Their approach to optometry and their quality of care matches the commitment we’ve made to our patients over the years.  This is such a perfect fit and patients will be in the very best of hands, and I know Somerset Eye will take this practice to the next level of care.”

An open house was held on June 10 for all current patients of Lens ‘N Eye to introduce them to the staff, and new vision care technologies and services now featured in the office.

Somerset Eye Care was founded in 2001 by Drs. Bethany and Jonathan Fishbein. The practice provides patients access to a full range of vision care including:  comprehensive eye exams; treatment of eye disease and injury; optical department featuring the latest in corrective lens designs and materials, and designer frames; fitting of specialty contact lenses, and for hard-to-fit patients; cornea shaping for 20/20 vision without the need for eyeglasses or contact lenses; low vision; laser surgery correction counseling and post-procedure care, according to the release.
