School Board Honors Outstanding Students

The district’s outstanding students were honored June 4 at a special Board of Education meeting.

Students in the past have been honored at board meetings in April, May and June, but, schools Superintendent John Ravally said, this year students suggested a different approach.

“We talked about the recognition the board likes to offer to our students who do amazing things, and we have so many of them through the year that we usually like to reserve that for April May and June,” he said. “For some students that meant coming back all three months in a row.”

“So, as wise as they are, and we always listen to our students, at a meeting I had with students we talked about a different way to do that, with perhaps trying it this way this year, when we have one big program.”
