Sally Ann Suydam of Somerset passed away on November 21, 2015. Surrounded by her immediate family and closest friends, Sally succumbed to a long illness, at her home on Suydam Farms in Somerset.

A resident of Somerset in Franklin Township most all of her life, Sally was a member of the Franklin Township High School class of 1975 and later finished her studies at Arizona State University with 147 credits. Sally worked for Marriott Corporation and then for Suydam Associates as head of property management until her passing. For many years Sally lived in the Lock-Tender’s house in Griggstown, delighting in her life along the Delaware-Raritan Canal and especially the neighboring farm animals that would daily come to her fence to greet her.

Sally was very fond of animals and they of her. She had that special touch, and won trophies and ribbons as a young girl, showing Brown Swiss dairy cattle in Somerset County 4-H. Earlier this year, Sally returned to live at Suydam Farms, the family farm on Route 27 in Somerset, transforming a small cottage into a charming home filled with the magical light of the surrounding fields and sunsets.

With a sensational smile, Sally made friends and brought life and laughter everywhere she went. She leaves behind many friends who will never forget her. She is survived by her mother and father, Ann and Abram Suydam of Somerset, her sister and brother-in-law, Robin Suydam and Paul Corkery of Somerset, her brother Ryck Suydam of Somerset, her niece Jenna Suydam and nephews Matthew, J. Paul and Lucas Suydam. The twinkle in Sally’s eye and her winning smile will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
