Body & Brain Yoga with Lucy Pagnetti – Monday, 10:30 a.m. Advance registration required; a $5.00 donation is suggested per class. Body and Brain Yoga is a dynamic mind-body practice that combines stretching, flowing movement, deep breathing exercises and meditation in a simple and easy to learn format that focuses on the development of the body’s core strength as the basis of physical, mental and spiritual health. Bring mats or you can use a chair.

Bridge Lessons – Every Friday, 10:30 a.m.

Computer Instruction – Every Monday, 9:00-12:00 p.m. (Please call for appointment.)

Continuing Art Institute with Karen Haake – Every Tuesday, 1:00-3:00 p.m. (There is a $10.00 fee, which includes supplies)

Healthy Bones Exercise Class with Joan Ackerman – Monday, 9:15 a.m. (Doctor’s Note Needed for Class)

Line Dancing – Every Friday, 9:30 a.m.

Outdoor Shuffleboard and Horseshoes – Available daily, weather permitting.

Variety of Board & Card Games (such as Monopoly, Po-Ke-No, Yahtzee, Dominoes & Checkers) – Daily

February 1, 8, 22 & 29 – Learn the Basic Italian Language with John Fitzgerald, 10:30 a.m. (This is a continuation of Quail Brook’s Around the World series.)

February 2 – “Poetry in Motion: Writing Workshop for One-of-a-Kind Poetry” by Deanna Lerner, Local Resident, Teacher, Author and Artisan, 10:30 a.m.

February 3 – “Plants of the Battlefield” by the Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center, 10:30 a.m. (Learn about the crucial role of plants for a soldier’s survival during the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.)

February 4 – Zumba Gold with Laurie Fechter, 10:30 a.m. (The original concept of Zumba combines a dance workout with a party-like atmosphere. Zumba Gold takes the popular Latin-dance inspired workout of Zumba and makes it accessible for people age 60 plus, beginners or others needing modifications in their exercise routine. Zumba Gold builds cardiovascular health by challenging the heart and working the muscles of the hips, legs and arms with dance moves.)

February 5 & 11 – Electronic Keyboard Music Lessons with Robert Norton, 10:30 a.m. (Hone your newly found musical abilities; learn how to play favorite songs and ‘practice-practice-practice!’) February 9 & 23 – Tai Chi with Bobbi Joels, 10:30 a.m. (Tai chi is based on shifting body weight through a series of light, controlled movements that flow rhythmically into one long, graceful gesture. Studies have reported that some participants experienced a reduction in pain, fatigue and stiffness and grain a greater sense of well-being. Regular tai chi can help reduce falls, especially those with balance problems. This program can be done using a chair for support if desired.)

February 10 – “A Singing Valentine’s Day: Origin, Symbols and Traditions- a Vocal Treat of Songs & Singing” with Josie Mescallado, 10:30 a.m.

February 12 – Chinese New Year Celebration, 10:30 a.m. (Rich in voice, steeped in Chinese tradition and history, the Quail Brook Senior Center showcases Chinese New Year songs and Chinese phrases for good fortune, health and prosperity throughout the year.)

February 15 – Center Closed

February 16 – “Mysticism, Kabbalah & Motivation” by Artie Hoffman, Master Level Psychic/Medium, Spiritual Life Coach & Motivational Speaker, 10:30 a.m. (This program provides an educational insight into motivational Kabbalah and mysticism. While not defined as a pure religious denomination, Kabbalah interpretations are used in many diverse denominations (i.e., nature of the universe and the human being, purpose of existence and esoteric concepts and questions.) As part of this program, Artie will do a two minute psychic ‘reading’ for attendees.)

February 17 – “Alborada Spanish Dance Theatre Presents: Spanish Tapas,” 10:30 a.m. (Enjoy dances from Northern and Central Spain, such as the Flamenco.)

February 18 – “Personal Electronic devices: A Learning Tutorial” with Anson Hira, AT&T, 10:30 a.m. (A personal electronics education class and hands-on tutorial for your cell phones and other devices.) February 19 – Rock Music: Instrumental & Exercise Workshop with John Fitzgerald, 10:30 a.m. (John will introduce a new genre of music replete with remastered syncopation supporting a unique form of physical exercise.)

February 25 – Dukes and Earls: A Cappella Doo Wap Concert with Frank Ciserelli, 10:30 a.m.
