Quail Brook Senior Center September Schedule

The center is located at 625 New Brunswick Rd., in Somerset. The center’s hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information call (732) 563-4213.

Bingo – Every Thursday

Caram – Daily (East Indian Game Similar to Billiards)

Chair Exercises – Every Wednesday, 10:30 a.m.

Computer Instruction – Every Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. Advance registration required.

Healthy Bones Exercise Class – Monday, 9:30 a.m. (Doctor’s Note Needed for Class)

Line Dancing – Every Friday, 9:30 am

Games (Scrabble, Dominos, Checkers, Yahtzee, Uno & Quizzle) – Daily

September 2 – Holiday – Center Closed

September 3 & 5 – Take a Stroll Down Memory Lane: Let’s Scrapbook Our Most Treasured Moments, 10:30 am (The art of Scrap Booking is intended for anyone interested in keeping treasured memories safe and easy to access for friends and family to enjoy.)

September 9 – “Coyote Cries: History, Habitat & Habits of the Wylie Coyote” by the Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center, 10:30 am

September 10 & 24 – Tai Chi with Bobbi Joels, 10:30 am (Unleash your own potential, become one with nature or simply reduce stress and have fun through the ancient Chinese art of flowing movement with Tai Chi.)

September 13 – “Rain Garden: Quail Brook’s Own River Friendly Project” with New Jersey Water Supply Authority & Water Shed Protection Specialists, 10:30 am (Learn the what, where, when and why of a Rain Garden Project.  Then, step outside and get up close to our very own River friendly Project.)

September 17 – Come and Learn the Ancient Chines Game of Mahjong with Laura Yang, 10:30 am

September 18 – Performance by the Franklin Township Hi-Steppers Dance Troupe, 10:30 am

September 19 – Ballroom Magic Continues, 10:30 am (Continue ballroom dance lessons with Annemarie and Craig.)

September 19Flu Clinic conducted by Saint Peter’s University Hospital, 10:30-12:00 pm

September 20 – “Autumnal Equinox Benefit Concert” with the Whitehouse Wind Symphony, Franklin Highschool, 7:30 pm (Reservations required.) All the proceeds from this concert will benefit the Quail Brook Senior Center Activities Fund.

September 23 – Relay for Life Luminaria Project with Virginia Fasulo, the American Cancer Society, 10:30 am (This is a heartfelt way to pay homage to lives lost to cancer.  We will be decorating bags for Colonial Park’s Relay For Life Mission.)

September 25 – “Stop the Bullying” by Ruth Hollingsworth (Learn to identify, manage and eliminate this very real problem.)

September 26 – Bingo Tournament, 10:30 am

September 27 – “Doo-Wap, Doo-Wah” Beach, Beat & Soul Music Performance with Mike Kaye, 10:30 am

September 30 – “Backyard Invaders” by the Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center, 10:30 am
