Police: Truck Batteries, Landscaping Tools Reported Stolen

police-shield-leftAbout $7,800 in items and auto parts were reported stolen Nov. 6 from their Elizabeth Avenue storage site.

Police said the items belonged to Capitol Landscaping, which was storing items in the rear yard of DeSantis Construction.

Taken were three truck batteries from pickup trucks, each of which was valued at $300, police said. Also stolen was a demolition saw valued at $1,200, a chain saw valued at $900, four back pack blowers valued at $2,100, a push blower valued at $1,000, a brick saw valued at $1,000, three weed whackers valued at $900 and a pruner valued at $400.

The tools were taken from locked storage trailers, the locks to which had been knocked off with a shovel, police said.

Police said the thief used a wheel barrow to move the items from the yard into their vehicle.
