Police Log: Nov. 6, 2013

police-shield-leftKumar Boppana of Somerset was cited Nov. 6 for careless driving and driving with an obstructed windshield after his car was involved in an accident with one driven by Meet Desai, also of Somerset. Desai told police his car was stopped in traffic on Westminster Road when it was rear-ended by Boppana’s. Boppana told police that he could not see Desai’s car because his windshield was fogged up from the cold.

Cars driven by Jonathan Wolff of Philadelphia and Vaishnavi Krishnan of North Brunswick collided Nov. 6 on DeMott Lane. Krishnan said her car was stopped in traffic when it was rear-ended by Wolff’s. Wolff told police he couldn’t see that Krishnan’s car had stopped because of the sun glare.

Estrada Heydi of Bridgewater told police Nov. 6 that she was driving down Easton Avenue, just south of Academy Road, when she noticed that the car ahead of hers, driven by Sanjukta Sanyal of Hillsborough, was stopped in traffic. Heydi said she could not stop in time to avoid the collision. The impact of that crash pushed Sanyal’s car into one ahead of it, driven by Jessica Espinosa of Middlesex. Espinosa’s car was then pushed into one stopped ahead of it, driven by Francine Jennings of New Brunswick. Heydi was cited for careless driving.

Chandubha Amin of Franklin Park told police Nov. 6 that he was driving down Easton Avenue when a deer ran in front of his car. He said he could not avoid hitting the animal.
