Police Log: July 18 – 22, 2017

July 18

  • Antonio Goes of Linden was cited for careless driving after the truck he was driving struck three other vehicles on Easton Avenue. Police said Gomes said he thought something broke on the undercarriage of his truck, causing him to have trouble stopping His truck rear-ended a stopped car driven by Francisco Camacho of Somerset, propelling the car off the road. Gomes’ truck then rear-ended a stopped car driven by Luqi Li of Nebraska, then entered oncoming traffic and struck a truck driven by Luis Palacios of Jersey City.
  • Clint Wallace of Belle Mead was cited for careless driving after his car rear-ended one on Canal Road, driven by Joseph Bassolino of Princeton. Bassolino said he’d stopped for traffic on the one-lane bridge.

July 19

  • Ravinder Patlola of Whitehouse Station was cited for careless driving and John Tanagho of Sayreville was cited for not producing driving credentials after the two were involved in a collision on Claremont Road. Patlola said that he was going to make a right turn from Claremont to South Middlebush Road when he saw the bridge was out, so he decided to make a left turn. Tanagho’s car was making a left turn at the time, and the two collided.
  • Otilia Paredes-Rojas of Somerset was cited for careless driving after police said her car turned from Booker to Frank streets and collided with a car driven by Shelley Roberts of Somerset.
  • A car driven by Emily Burd of Newton rear-ended one on Easton Avenue, driven by Wildor V. Arrascue-Vera of North Brunswick.

July 20

  • Carlos Irizarry of Plainfield told police he was driving down Canal Road when an oncoming car struck his driver’s side mirror and fled the scene.
  • John Kessler III of North Brunswick was cited for careless driving after his car collided with one on Route 27 driven by Asif Iqbal of Princeton. Iqbal said Kessler turned directly in front of his car.
  • Nigeleveri Lewis of South Plainfield was cited for driving without insurance and driving an unregistered vehicle after he hit a curb while avoiding stopped traffic on John F. Kennedy Boulevard.

July 21

  • Monica Malloy of Piscataway was cited for leaving the scene of an accident and failure to produce driving credentials after her car backed into a parked truck in an Easton Avenue parking lot. The truck’s driver, Thomas Garcia, told police that Malloy left the scene after they had a short discussion. Malloy said they exchanged information, and that she left after waiting 20 minutes for police. Police said they responded in 10 minutes.
  • Can Huang of Jersey City was cited for tailgating after her car rear-ended one driven on Route 27 by James Parmele of Skillman.

July 22

  • Jasmine Carey of Parlin was cited for careless driving after her car rear-ended one on Franklin Boulevard driven by Michael Colucci of Somerset. Carey said her foot slipped off her brake.
