Husnija Mehmedagic of Somerset was cited for failing to keep to the right and Marco Lopez of Somerset was cited for driving an uninsured vehicle after they were involved in an accident on Hillcrest Avenue. The cars’ driver’s side mirrors touched as they passed each other.

Freddy Myers of Somerset was driving down John F. Kennedy Boulevard when he changed lanes to make a left turn onto New Brunswick Road, and his car was rear-ended by one driven by Jeanne Yoon of Plainsboro. Yoon said Myers switched lanes right in front of her car.

Dec. 16

Mildred Munoz-Desanchez of Somerset was cited for careless driving after her car collided with one driven by Aina Robinson of Franklin Park. Robinson’s car struck Munoz-Desanchez’s as the latter was pulling out of a parking spot on Hamilton Street. Robinson’s car then ran off the road, while Munoz-Desanchez’s car struck a parked car owned by William Stevenson of Somerset.

Natasha Williams of Keyport was driving down Easton Avenue when her car was side-swiped by a truck driven by Emmanuel Anim-Mperey of Teaneck.

Carlos Cabral of Peapack was cited for careless driving after his car collided with one driven by Jing Fu of East Brunswick. Cabral said he was making a left turn from Franklin Boulevard to Landing Lane when the cars collided. Fu said she was turning left from Landing Lane to Easton when Cabral’s car turned in front of hers.

A car driven by Eric Finlayson of Kendall Park was stopped in traffic on Schoolhouse Road, behind a car driven by Lisa Warner of Kendall Park, when Finlayson’s car moved forward and rear-ended Warner’s. Finlayson said he looked away as he started to move forward and did not see that the car ahead of his was not moving.

Vaneet Dahiya of Plainsboro told police that he was stopped in traffic waiting to make a turn from South Middlebush Road to Route 27 when his car was rear-ended by one driven by Nitesh Chilkuri of Franklin Park.

§

Dec. 17

Jennifer Bryce of Hillsborough told police that she had stopped her car on Weston Canal Road when it was rear-ended by a car driven by Nicole Singer of Hillsborough. Singer then left the scene, but was later identified. She told police that she braked hard and thought the bump she felt was from braking, not hitting the car ahead of hers.

Christoph Demitri of Williamston was cited for careless driving and leaving the scene of an accident after his truck collided with a car driven by David Wineland of Middlesex. Wineland said he was driving on Canal Road when the box portion of Demitri’s truck hit his driver’s side mirror. Dimitri kept going, and Wineland chased him into Montgomery. Dimitri said he did not realize he had hit the other car.

Cars driven by Kimberly Arduini of Somerset and Elissa Cahill of Holmdel collided as they were backing out of parking spots on Route 27.

§

Jacquelyn Johnston of Martinsville was traveling on the Manville Causeway when her car struck a deer.

§

A car driven on Easton Avenue by Anita Gootman of Somerset rear-ended one driven by Juana Richardson of Kendall Park.

§

Kelsey Rule of Kendall Park was cited for careless driving after she told police that she was not paying attention while driving on Cedar Grove Lane and her car rear-ended one driven by Dhrupesha Kapoor of Somerset.

§

A car driven by Jobin Alencherry of Vienna, Va. was in the intersection of Easton and Austin avenues when a dark SUV pulled out from Austin, hit his car, and fled.

§

Dec. 18

Michael Williams of Horseheads, NY was cited for careless driving after the car he was driving rear-ended one driven by Neville Carnegie of Somerset.

§

Mark Allen of Hillsborough was cited for careless driving after he told police that he looked down while stopping on Amwell Road and his car rear-ended a car driven by Deepak Khugher of Belle Mead.

§

Alexandri Ams of Princeton was driving through the intersection of Laurel Avenue and Union Street when his car was struck by one driven by Nicholas DeSanctis of West Windsor.

§

Carrie Golej of Hillsborough was making a left turn from Berry to Hamilton streets when her car collided with one driven by Simone Waters of Somerset. Golej said she thought traffic was clear.

§

Shortly after the above accident, Ann Aiken-Hearns of Somerset was making a left turn from Berry Street to Hamilton Street when her car collided with one on Hamilton Street by Harry Hernandez-Martine of Somerset.

§

Shana McDonough of Hillsborough was driving down Canal Road when her car struck a deer.

§

Christoph Kirchof g Howell was driving down South Middlebush Road when his car struck a deer.

§

William Irvine of Somerset was driving down Franklin Boulevard when his car rear-ended one driven by Craig Powell of Somerset as Powell was turning into his driveway. Irvine said he did not see Powell’s car before hitting it.

§

A Winston Driv resident reported that someone entered his unlocked 2003 Acura and stole $5.

§

A Surrey Road resident reported that someone entered her unlocked 2012 Honda Pilot and stole a Lenovo ThinkPad laptop, valued at $800 and a laptop bag valued at $30.

§

Three water jugs, valued at $40, were stolen from the front porch of a Berger Street home.

§

A Somerset Street resident reported that someone keyed his 2009 Nissan Maxima and slashed three of its tires. The damage was valued at $2,370.

§

A Hollywood Avenue resident told police that three packages – Apple iPad Air tablets – were stolen from his front porch. The items were valued at $1,040.

§

Two tires on a car owned by a Camner Avenue resident were reported punctured.

§

An Arden Street resident reported that a package was stolen from their front porch.

§

Dec. 19

Lester Garcia-Leledon of Silver Spring, Md. told police that he was driving down Schoolhouse Road when he had to swerve to avoid hitting a car that had stopped short in front of his. His car then left the road and hit a fire hydrant.

§

Berley Hanna of Franklin Park was driving down Suydam Road when his car was sideswiped by a dump truck, which then left the scene.

§

Dec. 19

Lester Garcia-Leledon of Silver Spring, Md. told police that he was driving down Schoolhouse Road when he had to swerve to avoid hitting a car that had stopped short in front of his. His car then left the road and hit a fire hydrant.

§

Aubrey Leitch of South Plainfield told police that he was driving around a curve on Veronica Avenue when he saw a deer in the road. He said he swerved to avoid the deer, but then lost control of his car, left the road and hit a tree.

§

Dec. 20

Hetty Cheng of Sayreville told police she was driving down Elizabeth Avenue when she lost control of her car and struck the Chase Bank sign.

§

Anthony Cheng of Hillsborough was cited for failure to keep right after the car he was driving on Cortelyous Lane left the road, hit a tree and overturned.

§

A mailbox owned by an Old Georgetown Road resident was damaged.

§

Dec. 20

Chad Hamilton of Trevose, Pa., was cited for careless driving after the car he was driving rear-ended one driven on Route 27 by Rafael Gomez of New Brunswick.

§

Dec. 21

A mailbox owned by a Carriage Trail resident was knocked off its pedestal.

§

Someone threw a rock at the side of a Champlain Way house, knocking off a piece of aluminum siding.
