Police Log: April 19 – April 25, 2017

April 18

  • James Genes of Hillsborough was cited for careless driving when his car rear-ended one driven on Amwell Road by Mechele Pron of Ringoes.
  • Tahani Hamawy of East Brunswick was cited for careless driving after her collided with one driven by Maryellen Tetnowski of Belle Mead at the intersection of Laurel Avenue and Union Street. Hamawy said she was making a left turn onto Laurel through a break in stopped traffic when the accident occurred.
  • Maryann Walsh of Somerset was cited for careless driving after her car collided with one at Cedar Grove Lane and Pierce Street, driven by Koo Kang of Somerset. Walsh turned left in front of Kang’s car when the accident occurred.

April 19

  • $65 in cash, a leather wallet valued at $20 and personal papers were stolen from a locked car parked on Camner Avenue.
  • Matthew Andrews, 34, of Flemington, was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Nile, Mich.
  • Terance Miller of Trenton was turning from Old Road onto Route 27 when his car collided with one driven by Johnson Arhiman-Telewa of Somerset. Miller said he did not see the other car prior to turning.

April 20

  • Someone removed refrigerant from the air conditioning compressor of a Clyde Road building, damaging it.
  • More than $1,700 worth of electronics and jewelry was stolen from an Alex Place home. Police said someone forcefully entered the home and made off with an Asus notebook computer valued at $780, a Dell laptop computer valued at $500, two iPods valued at $100 each, and five gold bracelets valued at $125.
  • Devin Godfrey-Phipps, 40, of North Brunswick was arrested on an outstanding township warrant.
  • Symu Koul of Connecticut was cited for careless driving after his car backed into a car parked in the fire zone on front pf Pooja Restaurant on Easton Avenue. The car’s driver, Robert R. Franclin of Georgia, was cited for parking in the fire zone.
  • Shaquila Smart of Somerset was cited for careless driving after he car rear-ended one on Highland Avenue driven by Carol Aboussleman of New Brunswick.

April 21

  • Dandrik Segui, 32, of North Plainfield was arrested in New Brunswick on an outstanding township warrant.

April 22

  • More than $1,000 worth of perfume was stolen from a Route 27 store.

April 23

  • A 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe was stolen while it was parked on Barron Circle.
  • Errol Brown, 63, of Somerset was arrested on charges of Driving While Intoxicated and DWI in a school zone at Baier Avenue and Vassar Street.
  • Crystal Montgomery, 29, of Hope Lawn was arrested in North Brunswick on an outstanding township warrant.
  • Hansel Lopez-Cruz, 26, of Somerset was arrested on two warrants at Churchill Avenue and Route 27 after a traffic stop.

April 24

  • A 2004 Ford F350 was stolen while it was parked on Davidson Avenue.
  • Someone tried to break into an Easton Avenue pharmacy.
  • $4 in cash was stolen from an unlocked car on Barron Circle.
  • Abdul Jabbar, 23, of Edison, was arrested in Edison on an outstanding township warrant.

April 25

  • $98 worth of baby items and cards was shoplifted from an Easton Avenue store. The items were retrieved, but the alleged shoplifters fled.
  • $750 worth of electronics was stolen from a car parked on Route 27. Taken were a Samsung tablet valued at $500 and an Android phone valued at $250.
