Police Log: July 7–4, 2017

July 4

  • Grace Proctor of Franklin Park was cited for careless driving after her car rear-ended one on Easton Avenue driven by Timothy Hagerty of New Brunswick.

July 5

  • Jean Cseke of Somerset was driving down Hamilton Street when, she said, a car driven by Hilda Ngangmuta of Somerset turned in front of hers and the two collided.
  • Johsua Neri of Lakehurst was cited for careless driving after his car rear-ended one on New Brunswick Road driven by Osmin Abarca of Plainfield.
  • Cars driven by Michael Scott of Somerset and Miledis Peralta-Peralta of New Brunswick collided on Cedar Grove Lane when Peralta-Peralta’s car struck Scott’s. Peralta-Peralta said a car ahead of hers tried to turn into Cedar grove Center, forcing her to quickly change lanes.
  • Gillan Reneau of Plainfield was cited for driving with a suspended license after his car collided with one driven by Hadir Elfarra of South Bound Brook. Police said Elfarra made an improper lane change on Cedar grove Lane as she turned into a shopping center and her car struck Reneau’s.
  • Victor Matamoros of New Brunswick was cited for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, reckless driving, careless driving and driving without insurance after police determined his car hit a parked car on New Brunswick Road and left the scene.

July 6

  1. Cars driven by Gary K. Lewis of Milltown and John Holodynsky of Manville collided at Cottontail Lane and Pierce Street. Lewis told police he was on Pierce when he was distracted by a rabbit that had run across the road and did not see the stop sign at the intersection. His car struck Holodynsky’s forcing the other car off the road and onto the lawn of Ekornes. Lewis was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.

July 7

  • Rebekah Adelson of Somerset was cited for failure to produce a valid registration card after her car collided with one driven by Paras Bayor of Linden in an Easton Avenue parking lot. Bayor was backing his car into a spot next to Adelson’s car as she was backing her car out of the spot when the two collided.
