In Your Opinion: ‘Gathering Fore Groceries’ Fundraiser Coming Soon

By Nancy LaCorte.

You drive up the beautifully landscaped driveway and are greeted at the door with a refreshing cocktail by a white-gloved attendant. Help yourself to a cornucopia of food at the cocktail reception while you enjoy the musical stylings of Tommy Aboussleman.  Check out the fabulous tricky tray and silent auction prizes on your way to the premium open bar. Don’t forget to save room for a sumptuous buffet dinner and dessert. This isn’t a nice dream for a summer day – it is the Franklin Food Bank’s Gathering fore Groceries banquet.

The Palace at Somerset Park will be hosting the Franklin Food Bank’s 4th annual Gathering fore Groceries banquet on Monday, July 17th. The cocktail reception begins at 5:30 p.m. and the buffet dinner starts at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person or a table of 10 can be purchased for $450. Visit the Franklin Food Bank’s website (FranklinFoodBank.org) to purchase tickets. Proceeds from the event benefit the Franklin Food Bank.

“This is a time when we need support. Our pantry run’s dry as our donors take vacations but our clients cannot afford to take off,” said Frank Hasner, Executive Director, Franklin Food Bank. “Every person who joins us for dinner purchases 10 meals for their neighbors in need. Our clients depend on our event being successful.”

Join other sponsors like Stop & Shop, PSE&G, Parker McCay, Melillo Consulting, and many others. There are still sponsorship opportunities available for every budget.

The Franklin Food Bank is a private 501(c)(3) charitable organization. EIN #22-2406472. In 2016, the Franklin Food Bank distributed almost 10,000 food packages to over 1800 Franklin families in need. To learn more about the Franklin Food Bank, visit their website – www.FranklinFoodBank.org.
