Township police are investigating a one-car accident on Amwell Road that left a Mount Laurel woman injured.

Police said that at about 7:30 a.m. on Feb. 26, a 2007 Dodge Charger driven westbound on the road by Adelaide Slobert, 63, crossed the center line into the eastbound lane, left the road and struck a ditch before overturning.

Slobert was trapped upside down in the car by her seatbelt and was extricated by Sgt. Teddy Cerra, Officer Frank Gianotto and Officer Larry Booker of the Franklin Township Police Department’s Emergency Services Unit, police said.

Slobert suffered lacerations and other non-life threatening injuries, police said. She was transported to a local area hospital by emergency medical personnel from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Firefighters from numerous Franklin Township fire companies were on scene as well.

The factors that are contributed to the crash are under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time, police said.

Amwell Road was closed between Mettlers Road and Elizabeth Avenue for approximately an hour and a half during the investigation and subsequent clean up, police said.
