More than a dozen volunteers from Middlebush Reformed Church pitched in March 19 to help Habitat for Humanity build two homes.

Both homes are located on Churchill Avenue. The church volunteers joined other Habitat members, and the owners of the two homes, in the effort.

The Rev. George Montanari, pastor of the church located on South Middlebush Road, said the church has partnered with the Raritan Valley chapter of Habitat for Humanity for at least the past 16 years.

“We’re glad to be here to help lend a hand,” Rev. Montanari said.

In one home, church volunteers worked to finish the basement by putting up drywall, well as building the decking for the front stoop and the laundry and utility room, and finishing some framing work on the home’s first floor, Rev. Montanari said. Churchill Ave home building - 3
