Life Story: Rosemarie Dolores Gardner; Daughter Is Somerset Resident

Rosemarie Dolores Gardner departed this earth on October 3, 2018.

Born on June 1, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, she was a talented singer and volunteered as an entertainer with the USO in the New York area.

She married Donald A. Gardner on October 11, 1958. Together they built a life in New Jersey, eventually settling in New Brunswick where they lived for 35 years and raised their 5 children: Florence Gardner of Somerset, NJ; Rita Haake of Princeton, NJ; Donald “Tony” Gardner of Edison, NJ; Suzanne Gardner of New Brunswick, NJ; and Angela Rembisz of East Brunswick, NJ.

Rosemarie was also the grandmother of Capt. Robyn Haake of Cameron, NC; Anthony and Kathryn Gardner of Edison, and Makenna and Raymond Rembisz of East Brunswick. She was also blessed with one great-granddaughter, Braelyn Haake.

After raising their children, Rosemarie and Donald retired to Milan, PA, where they enjoyed many years. Rosemarie loved classic movies, was an avid reader, volunteered at her church and supported many childrens’ charities. She had a gentle and kind spirit and was devoted to her beloved husband and family. She will be missed always.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 9 am. Oct. 6 at St. Matthias Church in Somerset.
