Life Story: Frank Maddi, 91; World War II Veteran

Frank J. Maddi, 91, died Feb. 24 at Parker Home in New Brunswick.

Mr. Maddi was born September 16, 1926 in Newark, to the late Jerome and Josephine (Catalano) Maddi. He lived in Somerset and was previously from Colts Neck.

Frank honorably served in the Army during World War II; he was a 4th Armored Division Tank Corps  and Military Police.

He received a bachelors degree from Newark College of Engineering and was a mechanical engineer for Joule in Edison, where he worked for many years. He also worked for Kenmar Construction before his retirement.

Frank was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing and boating. He was also a member and past president of his hunting club.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Ottavio Maddi.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Barbara Maddi; his daughter, Joanne Maddi; his son, Craig and Joann Schultz; his daughter, Wendy and Lee Broyles; his seven grandchildren, Tavia, Jamie, Jaclyn, Erich, Kristin, Michelle and Steven and his three great-grandchildren, Mason, Bellarose and Lane.

Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. Feb. 27 at Gleason Funeral Home, 1360 Hamilton St.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Feb. 28 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Middletown, NJ.
