Life Stories: Dorothy McGee, 55, Was Childcare Professional

dorothy-mcgeeMrs. Dorothy McGee, 55, passed away Dec. 1 at her home in Greensboro, N.C. with her family by her side.

Mrs. McGee was born in New Brunswick and lived in Highland Park and Franklin Township for many years before moving to Greensboro, N.C. 5 years ago.

She was employed by Somerset County Social Services as a Childcare Professional. She also spent many years running a daycare out of her home in Somerset.

Mrs. McGee was pre-deceased by her father, Matthew Chiles Sr. and a sister, Ophelia Harvin

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Arthur McGee Jr. of Greensboro, N.C. and children Chablea Taylor and her husband Leonard Jr. of Greensboro, NC and Joseph Chiles and his wife Raquel of Franklin Township. She is also survived her siblings, Matthew Chiles Jr and his wife Catherine of Perth Amboy, Walter Britton and his wife Terri of Pittsburgh, Constance Chiles of Franklin Township, Renee Richardson of North Carolina, Jacqueline Chiles-Sims and her husband William of Mississippi and her 6 grandchildren, Cheyenne, Zoey, Madison, Leonard III Janessa and Joseph Jr. along with many nieces, nephews and extended family .

A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Dec. 9, 2016 at the Macedonia Baptist Church, 372 Highland Ave., Piscataway. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park in North Brunswick. Friends and family may attend the viewing from 10-11 a.m. on Friday at the church.
