Hydrant flushing and tree trimming throughout the township could affect residents through the end of the month.

Tree trimming will be conducted over the next two weeks, which will result in periodic shutdowns of some streets.

According to a notice from the township, the roads that will be affected are:

  • Butler Road, between Meadowlark Lane and Canal Road
  • Suydam Road, between Canal Road and South Middlebush Road
  • Jacques Lane, between Canal Road and South Middlebush Road
  • Canal Road, between Jacques Lane and Blackwells Mills Road

The township’s Department of Public Works’ water division will be flushing hydrants between 8 p.m. and midnight from Oct. 19 through Oct. 30.

The flushing could result in a slight discoloration in water the morning after flushing, but that will dissipate in a few hours, according to a notice from the township.

Any questions on the flushing can be directed to (732) 249-7800.
