FTHS Sports: Boys Basketball Falls to Scotch Plains in Holiday Tournament

Brandon Bennett and Raphael Oloyede led their team with 13 points each in the boys’ basketball teams’ loss in Dec. 27  Keith Benovengo Memorial Tournament play to Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School at Scotch Plains.

Also contributing to the effort were Jaelen Davis with 11 points, Hasheem Miller-Ware with 7 points, Giovante Robinson with 5 points and Kareem Cotton and Alex Smith with 2 points each.

Davis and Miller-Ware each hit a 3-pointer, while Oloyede had six field goals and Bennett had five.

Franklin did outscore Scotch Plains in two quarters — 15-14 in the second and 16-8 in the fourth — but it was not enough to overcome the lead that Scotch Plains built during the rest of the game.

The loss leaves Franklin with an 0-3-0 record for the season.
