FR&A Pictorial: CanalFest Entertains Thousands, Raises Thousands For Food Bank

More than $5,300 was raised for the Franklin Township Food Bank Oct. 18 at the annual Delaware & Raritan Canal Festival in East Millstone.

Officials said approximately 6,000 people streamed down Market Street during the 6-hour festival, one of the food bank’s major fundraisers. The street was lined with musical stages and vendors of food, arts and crafts.

A highlight of the day was the head-shaving of Township Councilman Phil Kramer (D-Ward 3), who pledged to take the action if at least $2,000 was raised for the food bank.
