FHS Lady Warrior Softball Falls To Montgomery, 16-0

Defending Group IV champion Montgomery exploded for 13 runs in the second inning to best the Franklin High School Lady Warriors softball team 16-0 April 8.

Gabrielle Ciccone garnered the Lady Warriors’ only hit, a double in the second inning. That’s Ciccone’s third double of the season out of her nine total hits.

The Lady Warriors’ starting pitcher, Julia Gabryszewski, gave up 14 runs – 13 of them earned – on 15 hits, with one strikeout, a walk and a hit batter.

Jody Anne Popa-Matos took over the pitcher’s circle for Gabryszewski and gave up two runs on three hits, with a hit batter.

The Cougars, who remain undefeated with the win, ran on Franklin’s pitchers, stealing 10 bases.
