Drop Off Electronic Waste At WCTC On Earth Day

wctcElectronic waste can be dropped off 7 a.m. to noon April 22 at WCTC, 78 Veronica Ave. in Somerset.

“Somerset County employees look forward to meeting residents and sharing literature with them,” Somerset County Freeholder Patricia Walsh, teh Freeholders’ solid waste management/recycling liaison, said in a release.

Old computers, televisions, servers, monitors, printers, fax machines, copiers, telephones, keyboards and other electronic equipment and peripherals can be dropped off. To avoid short-circuiting of batteries, each battery should be individually bagged or each terminal should be taped.

Newtech Recycling will handle all recycling, according to the release.Somerset County residents can recycle e-waste year-round, free of charge, at Newtech Recycling Inc. from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays. Upcoming Saturday drop-off dates in 2014 are May 3, June 7, July 12, Aug. 2, Sept. 6, Oct. 4, Nov. 1 and Dec. 6.
