Township Councilman James Vassanella (D-Ward 5) hands ceremonial $300,000 check to Peg Wright, CEO of the Center for Great Expectations.

The Center for Great Expectations received a $300,000 donation at the Sept. 13 Township Council meeting.

The money came from the township’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

The center, located on Dellwood Lane, provides housing and treatment programs for trauma, abuse, homelessness and addiction for adult and adolescent women and their children.

Peg Wright, the center’s founder and CEO, said she was “very proud to be part of this township, and I’m proud of this donation.”

Wright said the center raises money each year “so we can provide the level of care we believe is necessary to break the cycle” of abuse toward women, and women’s homelessness.

“They’re all the victims of the kind of trauma that you can’t even imagine,” she said of the center’s clients.
